Replica 1903A4 scopes?
Does anyone have experience with the replica 1903A4 scopes available? There is the military version of the Weaver 330 and the M-84.
Originals command the price of collectability,I can't afford that. I also can't afford to spend $300 plus on junk. I would think modern tech could equal or exceed original quality for that price. Are adjustments accurate?Do they sub plastic for metal? |

when I restored my 1903A4 I refused to spend the money on the repros...complete junk as far as I'm concerned, I went with a modern redfield revolution instead, half the price, 4 times the zoom.
the rifle on bottom was the A4, rifle on top was a bubba'd 1903 Mark 1 that I pseudo converted to military config.

Read a one star review on the repro M84 at Midway.I'm convinced.
I found a Lyman Alaskan on E-bay and won the bid.I hope I have some luck finding the Redfield vertical split 7/8 rings.Need to go see my local gunsmith. If not,I suppose I still know how to run a lathe and mill. |
