FNP 40

Anyone have any experience with this handgun? It does not seem to be mainstream like GLOCK, HK, SIG, XD, or some others, but appears to be a quality pistol.

I recently bought one becuase it not only felt ergonomically correct, but the dealer sold it to me with 8 high cap mags all for a good price, or so I thought!

I pick it up next week!

Would like some feedback on this pistol! Thanks!

The only FN I own is a 5-7, but they are renown as extremely accurate, reliable pistols. Their history goes back a hundred years plus. You made a great purchase

My FNP40 was the first handgun I ever owned, now I have 2. 2500 rounds through one, only issue is Federal American Eagle FMJ 165gr causes fail to feed, maybe 10 times in 500 rounds. I have shot 8-10 other brands in 165 or 180gr, both FMJ and hollow point and have had zero issues with everything else. Suspect American Eagle ammo is loaded a little light. 2nd gun has around 300 rounds, maybe 500. Zero issues though I have not used AE ammo in it.

These will be my EDC and home defense pistols for the foreseeable future. I wanted to have the same gun for both so that if ever the need arises, it will not matter which gun I pick up, operation will be the same.

They're great guns, imo.

The shop I bought my gun from gave me a bunch of high cap magazines. Two of the magazines are for the FNP9 and are new FN 16 round mags. I cannot use them.

If anyone interested contact me. I can't do anything with anyone in states that have laws against high cap pistol mags (CA, NY, NJ, MASS) unless you are an LEO or in legal state!

I have an FNP45 and an FNX9 and I think they are both great guns that are very underrated. FN does not spend enough money marketing their great quality firearms, so they are relatively unknown.

Nice purchase and enjoy it.

Because FN does not market thier guns well here in the USA, the result is very few choices of holsters, limited options on upgrades such as night sights, harder to find parts and magazines.

They seem like awesome guns!

Getting rid of my FNX 40 was one of the few trade decisions I regret.

Never get rid of ANY guns. THere will always be regret if you do! Worst thing I ever did was sell my Steyr AUG and my Steyr GB 9mm. That was 25 years ago and I am still sad about it!
