ROA grip problems

Hey guys... Just picked up some ivory style grips for my stainless roa, only problem is that the dowel pin on the sides of the grip frame don't line up with the holes on the grips. Anybody ever run into this before? I was thinking about just "carving" out new holes on the inside of the grips. Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with a set of Colt New Army grips. I just drilled new holes in the grips to match the frame. I have a drill press, so it was easy, but I think that you could do the same job with a hand drill, as long as you're slow and careful.

The locator dowel pin in the frame can be pressed out, making the frame hole a perfect guide for starting the hole in each grip panel - which is best reamed/deepened by hand with the drill bit held in a pin vice.
