243 wssm reloading fixes

After reloading my 243wssm brass three times the cartridge will not fit in the chamber of my ar-15 or bolt gun .I understand the brass is harder to resize than most other calibers . I would like to hear from the great minds on this forum about their experiences with this situation . Thank you

I say use a small base die, thats what I have to do on my .270WSM and my 7WSM. For some reason I dont have to do it on any of the others. The other alternative is to mill the shell holder.

Before you buy new dies, make sure that you're completely resizing the case - if they worked for the first three loadings then your shoulders have probably moved a little too far forward. Try screwing your die further down in the press about a turn, and with a case in the die make sure that the shellholder touches the bottom of the die at the top of its stroke. It could be touching the die when its empty, but there is a certain amount of springback in the press that can prevent the case from sizing completely. Easy to check anyway.

Do what the Ifishsum suggested.

If all else fails, try a Small Base die.
(Note: proper lubrication is required with SB dies, or you may stick a case.)

When the case is all the way in the die (fully up), you should see no daylight between the die and shell holder. If there is, you may need to run the die down a touch farther til they're touching.
That might fix it. With the AR you may need SB dies.
