Looking for DOPE for R-25 308
I have recently purchased a rem R-25, I have a Nikon pro staff 4-12x 1/4 MOA adjustments and I was looking for someone with recorded DOPES out to 1000 yards. Thanks

Only you can dope your rifle and scope combo by shooting .
What you can do is use a balistic calculator to get close . http://www.hornady.com/ballistics-re...ics-calculator http://bisonballistics.com/point_mass_calculations/new |

The Nikon Spot On calculator works pretty good since you have a Nikon scope it will work even better. Just input all the parameters correctly and its pretty accurate I have used it to shoot out to 500 yds and it was right on.

DOPE=Data On Previous Engagements. Your DOPE is going to be specific to your rifle/scope/ammo and can vary with a multitude of factors. The ballistic calculators mentioned earlier will get you close (close being a relative term at 1000yds) but you'll actually have to put rounds on target to know how your system behaves.
Out to 400 yards it should be a simple matter of compensating for wind and bullet drop, much past that and things start to get complicated.

If you have an android phone, download the Strelok ballastic calculator.
Its one of the best ballistic calculators i have come across. You put in the variables, it will probably have your scope and reticule available to give you a sense of how much holdover you need for a given distance. It will tell you how many clicks to adjust for a given distance and windage. It may be an iphone app too but I don't know. |

I wouldn't call myself a first time shooter.
I have put more rounds down range in a place called Afghanistan than most which is far from F-class and I realize that I need to actually shoot to get my exact adjustments. I was just wondering is anyone who has a R- 25 had shot and what their DOPE was.
By the way the JBM ballistics calculator was the closest. |
