scope ring choice .308

How do I know what rings to buy for my scope to know it will not put the scope in the path of spent rounds. The circumference is 1" of the scope.
The rifle is a Savage Axis 308

Its a common bolt action rifle the empty shells eject out the side, get a set of medium rings should be a safe bet unless you have a 50mm objective then you probably should go with a high ring set, leupold makes a great set of rings and bases, along with several others, just do a search for base and rings for your particular rifle, medium rings are usually a pretty safe bet for clearance
