S&W M&P OR Quad rail

quad rail?

Are they like a lot of the AR parts, interchangeable, or do I need to find one specifically to fit this model?

Something like http://www.midwayusa.com/product/305...-15-mid-length

And will I have to remove/replace the gas block to get it over?

Lust learning the minutia of the accessories, wondering what is involved.
I want my arctic laser on one side and my Cree T6 on the other.

Scope on top, bottom rail, maybe folding bipod, but really not sure on that, seems it would get in the way.

Weapon comes with nothing but the flat top, small rail on top of the gas block, and a polymer fore grip.

Thanks

You will need a carbine length handguard (7"). Yes the handguards (as long as you have the correct length) are interchangeable and easily swapped.

I have one on my OR.

S&W M&P AR15's are like any other AR15.

All the gear out there for AR's fits on a S&W.

...well, not exactly. There's the mil-spec/commercial parts difference. My Sport has a commercial buttstock for example.

Local gun shop had one, lucky find, they always seem to be my place when I need something specific.

Rail is made by Mako group, I like much better than the vanilla polymer forend that came with it.

Back side went under the delta ring, however did not just pop in, had 4 bolts that clamped the halves together over the ring that held the stock forend.

Bipod is by grippod http://www.grippod.com/.
Spring loaded, retracts into the grip, me likey

Oh yeah, and it mated perfectly with the one on top and the gasblock, not sure if that is because they are standard measurements or I just got lucky (would like to know if anyone else does)

Nice setup Sabre9mm! I have grippods on both of my S&W M&P AR's.

Got mine cheap tho.

Thanks. Grippod was more than the rails!

I like anything that turns two functional components into one so long as it remains functional and is not hinkey...

Bipod. And out of the way when not needed. Perfect.

I bought 3 of them on AR15.com equipment exchange for $45 each. All real deal military version with the metal inserts.

The gas block for the OR is the same level as upper receiver so it sits level with the quad rails. There are gas blocks that sit lower (don't know why they would do that) than the receiver.

Nice set up. Now go shoot that rifle.
