Stupid prices
Some of the guns I own are now selling for stupid prices. An FN Five-seveN sold on GB yesterday for $3,000.00! A Sig 556 rifle sold for $3,600.00.
I have a lot of guns. It may be time for me to make some money! |

If someone wants to pay me $3500 for my AR-15, I'd love to hear from them. I like hunting pigs with it, but I am sure I can make other arrangements.

yes, its getting sorta silly......Good if ya got some ya want to turn for a profit though.
I picked up a new mini 30 SS less than a month ago $730 OTD. There is one on GB right now that is bid up to $1400 with 2 days remaining on the auction. This should be a good eye opener to a lot of people of why you should be well ahead of the curve before things like this come up or it could be very costly |

I know, I want to sell my AR for $3500, but I'm slightly nervous I won't be able to get another. I'm glad I bought the kid's ar before the scare.

Buy up all you can to re-sell. Beats the interest rate at the bank or an IRA.

I know what you mean. I have a mini-14 with less than a box of ammo through it (Yes- I am aware this is an unforgivable sin!!), I just always ended up wanting to sight in or shoot my other guns and never even really got around to properly sighting it in. Anyway, I have been thinking of selling it and dumping the money into some optics and ammo for the other guns I actually use. It is very tempting.

My local Walmart still has Bushmaster AR's in stock for $800. Maybe I should buy one and list it on gunbroker.

$800 for any kind of AR right now is a very low price.

There was a post in the Semi-Auto Handgun Forum about a Kel-tec PMR-30 that was going for $1,600 on GB.
Thankfully, I didn't feel the need to join the panic buying. I wish I would have been stocking reloading supplies, though.

There is an auction at Buds Gun Shop for a Bushmaster CAR15 w/ red dot currently going for $3500. This is a $700 rifle during saner times. Cheap AR's=Investment of the year!

I have been told as a rule of thumb before if you sell more than 3 guns in a year for profit you are in danger. The actual legal definitions are murky though as you can see above. Local laws may or may not apply too. Btw dumbest deal is a SIG 716 FDE on gun broker for more than 5k right now.

the fever...
I recently sold a number of firearms online over the last couple of months (started before that nutjob in Connecticut got loose). I had considered selling my Kel-Tec .308 bullpup (would have gotten quite a bit for it), but realized that I could forget getting another for quite awhile. Glad I held onto it. It is amazing the rise in prices on semi-automatic longarms and the ammunition has just gone absolutely berserk. Good thing I set up to reload a couple of years ago.
I hope I am wrong, but something tells me this is going to get ugly before the dust really settles. Let me tell you guys something. I am a Democrat. I became one shortly after my stay in the Desert. Because of both, I am very much on the Second Amendment [as many, if not all, of you are]. Not because I dig firearms (I hardly discharge my weapons, although I do conceal carry and practice handling my pistol), but because without that right, we are vulnerable to a government that will do anything to get credit for safeguarding the population. They see us (both Republicans & Democrats in office) as children not knowing how to take care of ourselves. Do not be fooled - both parties want an unarmed populace. Moderator, if this is a misplaced post on my part, please handle accordingly. - JKHolman |
