Decided on an Eotech

Originally I thought I was going with a 1-4x scope, but a change of plan. I want a true 1x optic. Maybe a scope down the road?

Should I pay $50 extra and get a Primary Arms 3x mag...or not worth it?

I've no experience on primary arms, but I do recommend the Eotech's. I have one on my AR and it works well. Adding magnification is up to you depending on if funds are available.

I believe the Primary Arms stuff is liked by folks who have them, even though they are very budget oriented. I have an Aimpoint magnifier and it is a neat little addition that helps extend the utility of the rifle.

For $50, I might just go ahead and do it as long as it's on a mount that will let you quickly swing it aside or dismount/remount.

I might hold out for a bit and get a G23. It does have a QD mount.

i LOVE the eotech. definitely not an end all optic, but for cqb (or stalking groundhogs ) it's unbeatable IMO

My EO Tech has a flip to side magnifier set up behind it. It is a most excellent arrangement. Under 100 yards or so I keep it off to the side. This is the normal position. Beyond that I use the magnifier. It has performed flawlessly for many years.

You can purchase these separately. If you want a red dot and are thinking you might want a magnifier later EOT is probably the best way to go.
