Say, I've see the ads in the Varmint Hunter Magazine all the time for the Xtender single shot conversion for 1911s from Clerke Arms, Inc. Just got their brochure. I'm considering getting the .22-250 one for a spare 1911 frame I have.

Does anyone have any experience with this system and/or Clerke Arms in general? (They also manufacture custom barrels.) If so, how is/was the quality, service, and product performance?

Thank you in advanced.

Just ran across one of these on a website. Looks very interesting and I don't even like 1911s that much. I found info on a 243, 410, and a 223. Anyone know what other caliber are out there?

Since no one replied to the original i figured there is no harm in reviving.

Not currently, but I have been involved in salvaging 16th century cannons from shipwrecks. If you know of a job opening I am quite certain some of the experience transfers.

Never heard of Clerke Arms, I guess that's because the thread is almost 13 years old and they went under.. ??

Way to go, guy posts 13 years ago, never gets answer and it's dug up.

They are on gunbroker though, and they aren't even that expensive. Only about $300. Who needs an encore when you have these?

There was company called Clerke Tehchnicorp that went out of business in the ‘70s. They made 2 guns, a .32 and the .22LR. Both were really cheap guns, going for about $15 (in 1970’s) and were known as typical “Saturday Night Specials” and it’s illegal to own one there.

I am holding a friend's Clerke 22LR revolver and it is somewhat accurate to 3 yards, not too good at 7 yds.

To clear things up:

223
243
410

Also running into a few other options. Pachmyar Dominator and Springfield SASS.

BO CLERKE was a friend of mine. He has gone home now. His last business was making barrels in Raton, NM.
