700 and counting
I went to the range this weekend and ran another 200 rounds through the SR9c. Not one issue. I am really trying to work on technique more than anything right now. I think I need a sights tweak. Everything was low left, and when I went right and up is was money. So I may give it just a slight tweak to make sure I am not crazy.

Keep shooting. 700 rounds is still brand new.
![]() Is this your first centerfire pistol? Are you right-handed? My guess is that the sights are probably on but you are jerking the trigger a bit, causing shots to go low and left. The SR9Cs are great pistols. My brother has a full-size SR9 that he loves, and I am tempted to pick up an SR9C one day. |

First owned pistol period. Yeah I am right handed. Thats one thing I am working on the most is technique, but getting to the range is a task in itself right now. I will work on it some more to make sure its not the sights and just me, LOL! Yeah I love the SR9c, I am really thinking of picking up the 40c as well.

Here's a helpful chart for improving pistol shooting technique.

That chart was designed for one-handed bullseye shooting and its applications to most shooting are somewhat limited. Pretty sure that's been discussed.

Something that helped me when I was getting shots low right(I shoot left) was to stop squeezing the grip as hard. It helped but it was one of those things that didn't always help so I borrowed my friends laser and got some snap caps. Watching how the dot moved showed me when things started going wrong, I made subtle little tweaks to my technique until the dot stop dropping.

Thanks for the tip BB. Now that I think of it I was gripping pretty tight, it was like 20 degrees outside. I will work on relaxing next go round. Dont know anyone with a laser to give a try though.

My Ruger SR9c is currently with Ruger. A few hundred flawless rounds through it and then it developed the trigger resetting issue. It has been cleaned well and I still couldn't get rid of the problem, but I know they will get it right. And, given the fact that my Gen 2.5 Glock 26 has never had a hiccup through almost 30,000 rounds, I still love the SR9c. It just fits my hands like a glove.
