New 870 Wingmaster Quality?

How are the new 870 Wingmasters? I have my dad's 1978 model that's a dream but I know they don't make em like they used to.

If I bought a new model, what could I expect to be different?

It would have real checkering, choke tubes, and all of them now have a 3" chamber, and they have the goofy green monster magazine cap retention system instead of the old detent in the barrel ring. I have looked closely at several, and shot a couple, and they are fine.

They work, but the craftsmanship is definitely not what it used to be... I own old and new...

A wingmaster is a wingmaster. I have handled two new ones and they were a beauty to behold. My beef with the new Wingmaster is the price. I can buy two older ones for the price of one new Wingmaster. Since the Wingmaster is made to be used, I can live with a few scratches.

I bought my first "Wingmaster" in 1958. Since then I've purchased three more (two for my son.)

The new ones are the best so far. Especially nice is the real checkering rather than the old crummy pressed.
