Sorry if this has already been done....I took a quick search and didnt really see much. Post up pics of your 1911's...new and old. Anyone have an authentic Browning 1911 from WWI?

Here's my Sig GSR 5" barrel 1911 in beautiful stainless steel. Yes, I love me some stainless!

Nothing fancy, a Colt Government Model along with a couple of Rock Islands, all in .45

Right now the Rock Island 1911's are, IMO, the best value out there.

Yupp had a Rock Island myself for a while...decent plain jane 1911 but still well built IMO. Traded mine up for the Sig.

My newest pistol is this Colt LW Commander in 45ACP that I bought this week. Accurate and eats everything that I feed it! Plus fully loaded it's 11oz. lighter than my Ranger II in 45ACP.

Here's my STI Ranger II in 45ACP that's been my EDC for the last 4 years. It's very accurate, picky about what HP's it will chamber, but 100% reliable with Winchester 230gr Ranger JHP's. I have a bad back and the weight of this all steel gun was giving my back and hip a fit.

Here's a RIA Match 45ACP that is nearly as accurate as my STI. These are great guns for the price. I gave this one to my son-in-law when he retired from the US Army this year with 21.5 years of service. Told him every retiree should have two firearms a 1911 and a decent AR15!!!!! I started him off with the 1911.

Yeah, nobody does a finish as nice as Colt's high polish. I picked that one up used with some non-original, crappy grips on it.

I bought the polished nickel SW1911 used, but what I found on the internet they appear to be the stock grips S&W put on that particular model (not too many of that model were made, as far as I can tell, but the few I seen on the Internet, have the same grips on them for that model). I have no idea what S&W called those grips. The only problem with them is that they are a bit on the slick side (not good if your hand starts getting sweaty).

Might sound corny, but you can literally see all the personalities shine in all of your various 1911's. Some are more rugged and traditional, but the ones with the fancy grips and high polish are just incredible. Great guns guys.....goddam I need to start saving because I have my eye on a couple of yours!
