You ever leave with your CCW empty. I came home today and my ammo was on my desk. I thought that looks like my .38spl (my CCW) ammo. Yep sure enough, I laughed and said oppps.

It would sure be a bummer if you needed to use your sidearm and the ammo was sitting on the dresser. I always check my ammo before the gun goes in the holster...

The only guns I own that aren't loaded are in the safe... if it's out and not disassembled for cleaning, it's loaded.

If you don't mind me asking, why was it unloaded in the first place?

It is a regular combat match. I always shoot my carry gun.

Once, I put everything away after the match and then forgot to load the pistol. I did have my spare magazine in the belt pouch and my 'gun' magazine with chamber round in my pocket.

Sheesh.

Nope,the only time there empty is if I shoot to slide lock or Im cleanning them.

Nope. Only time it's unloaded is when shooting at the range or cleaning. I live by myself, so I can leave mine out and loaded while It's not on me.

Nope, well, not yet anyways.

I put mine in a pistol case when I come home and have made it a habit to drop the mag and set it in the case next to the gun. That way I have to put the mag in the gun every time I take it out of the case for use and know it is loaded for sure.

I only drop the mag, though. The one in the pipe stays there, no sense manipulating more than necessary

No, i havent. But I did travel 15 miles to the range and forgot the magazine for the ar15, brought ammo but no mags, lol , luckily i was able to borrow. As humbling as it was to admit that I forgot.

Not quite, but I did pull off an "almost unloaded" carry once. I popped in a magazine, worked the slide to chamber a round, and then dropped the magazine to top off. Because I needed two hands to top off the magazine, I put my gun in the holster, and topped off the magazine. At that point, I suffered a minor bout of cranial rectitis, put the magazine in my mag pouch, and off I went. I only later realized that I had 1 round in the chamber, but no magazine in my pistol. I was effectively CCing a single-shot. . . .

Last thing I do prior to holstering is to check condition, even though I know it's loaded.

has never happened to me ... as others have said, if it's a carry gun and it's not being cleaned, it's loaded ... and I know because I check every day before I slide it into my pocket ...

I was showing my gun to somebody, before so I unloaded it. I forgot to reload.

Thank God I had my pepper/tear gas spray.

Not possible for me to "leave with my CCW empty" since I only unload it a couple of times per year when I clean it. The rest of the time, it's HOT. No kids or dumbazzes in my house at this time so no need to waste the time and effort to unload.
Once, last year I left home with an empty holster simply because I was totally distracted during an emergency parts run.

My holstering ritual involves mag and press check, visual inspection of the holster, then the weapon. It's pretty useless empty. But if I ever fail to load it, there's two spare mags on my weak side. I fail with that, I'm perhaps mentally incompetent to be carrying.

No. It doesn't get unloaded.

I shoot on the average of once a week here at the house. Whatever I'm shooting I always end shooting session with a few rounds through my ccw.

Ccw is then cleaned,reloaded and holstered.
