Hoppe's orange label vs blue

Do I have this right?

Orange label better for lead removel, easier on the barrel.

Blue label better for removing copper fouling, hard on the barrel.

I'm thinking, since I only shoot FMJs, is to clean frequently with CLP and use the blue label once and a while to remove copper fouling.

Thoughts?

I've used Hoppe's No. 9 from Day One for me. Never seen any reason to change. I use it for lead or jacketed bullets.

They are both No. 9. I'm looking for the differences between the orange label and blue (semi-auto). See URL links above.

I really haven't looked at them since I just use the regular old No. 9.

Have you looked at the labels to see what they say?

Yes, the blue label states it removes copper, the orange doesn't.

Maybe it's a new name for Hoppe's 9 "benchrest" copper solvent. Does it smell different? Hoppe's benchrest has a powerful and unpleasent ammonia odor.

Don't know. They call it "semi-auto" though.

I have oth and I don't know. I got the blue "semi auto" as a gift. They smell different. Both work good. I am now curious.

Why do you think that one is hard on the barrel and the other easy?
