Questions regarding rebarreling a Ruger No.1
I want to rebarrel a Ruger No.1 to 7mm08. I have a few questions for those who have rebarreled one of these rifles.
1. Who made the replacement barrel? 2. Who did the install? 3. Would you use the same barrel/installer again? 4. What was the turnaround time? |

Shilen Barrel.
I did... a #1V in .220 Swift. Yeah... I like my workmanship. ![]() A weekend. Now... knowing that the above answer is completely useless to you and you're looking for a good #1 smith... I recommend McGowen Precision for both the barrel and the gunsmithing. They'll do a first class job on your #1 with a very fair price and good turnaround time. They make a premium barrel too... so it's a one-stop-shop deal.
