Is my Ruger P89 9mm defective
Hi folks, I have been shooting my new Ruger P89 a ton since last week when I picked it up. So far it seems to shoot great. The only thing I noticed is my primers seem to be hit by the firing pin off center slightly. After about three hundred rounds it doesn't seem to cause any problems, I just want to make sure it won't cause problems later on. Here is the pic....thanks for any input.

No its fine. Some guns hit primers a touch off center. Unless someone who knows more then I disagrees I say don't sweat it.

Very common and no cause for concern.
Keep your P89's frame rails lubricated with a good quality light grease like a white lithium grease. The frame material is aluminum with a very thick anodizing. It is very hard and very durable but also very abrasive. The grease will minimize wear to the slide from the frame.
