My latest project. Ranger 101.2 bolt action shotgun restored
Hi everyone,
I recently was given an old shotgun. From what I understand, it is circa 1937? Sold by Sears, very similar to the Savage 238. It was in very poor condition, and I have been working on it for a long time. Here are some photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More---- I believe it is now fully functional. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The stock was cracked in several places, and wood was ruined in several other places. So it was reinforced with epoxy and steel rods. I then refinished it with chestnut stain and marine finish. The bluing was bad, so that was redone with Oxpho Blue (first time I did a cold blue) I believe it is now fully functional. |
