I am now ready for the Revolution.
No, not some anti-goverment crap. Nah, I mean that really incredicbly stupid TV show about the electricity stopping... Just loaded my first 45ACP and 5.56 rounds today. Already shot the 45, and will be testing the 5.56 tomorrow. In a world without electricity, I should hope a reloader is king.

No electricity, huh? Cool, I can reload by candlelight (if I keep the candles and powder on separate ends of the bench)...

Way off topic but.......
King must first have firepower crew to cover his reloading. King must have a good tactical position to defend what he has. King must have food King must have a lot of powder, primers, bullets and case lube. |

Crap.
So much for my case feeder, bullet feeder, Dillon rotary trimmer, my Thumler Model B, and even my RCBS Chargemaster combo. I guess it's time for a generator. |

That's why I have a lead pot backup for my Lee electric lead pot.
I tried to get someone to look at mating a tumbler to a stationary bike - nobody was interested in the idea...

You could always look into solar power to run your tumbler.

...and after all the primers and powder are used up, the person with a 45 caliber airgun will still be shooting.

What are you going to use to run your generator? Walk to town to get gasoline? With no electricity they won't be able to pump it.
Guess you could suck it up through a hose like we used to do when I was a kid. But I am sure there is a federal law against that now.

I'm thinking we need a forum just to make fun of that TV show... the generator wouldn't even produce any juice. Cars stopped because their generators and alternators couldn't sustain the spark/combustion cycle...

Hey, I already have my plan for the Zombie/Revolution Apocalypse. I live a few hundred miles from the Nosler plant in Oregon. If I'm visiting relatives, it's only a few hundred miles to the Hornady plant in Nebraska. At least I hope that's a plant, and not just a corporate headquarters...

![]() I like the Boy Scout Motto, "Be Prepared." It doesn't take an apocalypse to shut off the electricity.....ask the folks in New Jersey/New York. Generators only work with gasoline.....gasoline pumps work only with electricity. Kind of a catch 22 there. I still use an RCBS 10/10 scale, and as for feeders I use "tube feeders" and Lee style "shaker" collator. No power to my progressive, but I still need light....will have to make a bench on wheels to wheel outside, or I'd be stuck with...ugh...open flame candles. Here's my hand-powered case & bullet fed progressive. ![]() http://s935.beta.photobucket.com/use..._1261.mp4.html and the hand-powered case collator. http://s935.beta.photobucket.com/use...ator1.mp4.html A year's supply of food and a months supply of water is the first important concern!....and move away from the ocean, for crying out loud. Their stored food is gone. On the top of my to do list is solar power......real soon now.

Man, if NY and NJ are still out of power in a year, they're gonna be soooo ****** at Obama...
I can just see all the rage as they tie people to chairs, and rig a crossow to shoot them when someone else opens the door pulling on the string... We really need that make fun of Revolution forum at this rate ![]() As for something you can wheel outside, Ultimate Reloader has plans for a steel pillar that would probably wheel around on a handtruck pretty well. I found it by accident, but I'd probably google some variation of hornady steel 4x4, nuts welded, plans... I remember the baseplate was 18x24 Edit, then again, I'm not doing anything, here's the link... http://ultimatereloader.com/2010/01/...ans-available/ |
