A Mid-Sized M&P 9mm

Hi all,
I recently took a chance on a NIB M&P 45c. I've been very happy with the gun so far. I really like its size, as that tends to be the sweet spot for me. This got me to thinking.

Would you be interested in a mid-sized M&P 9mm (think Glock 19)? I know the M&P 9c is out there, but to be honest I prefer a slightly larger gun. I've never had any issues concealing a Glock 19 sized pistol and if it gets me a slightly longer barrel and more capacity then even better. With the Glock 19's popularity and the fact that the M&P seems to be doing a decent job at making a name for itself, I think it would have a market. Let me know what you think.

No, it's already a flooded market.

Dimensions stated by the makers:
M&P FS
OAL: 7.5" Height:5.5" Width: 1.2" Barrel: 4.25"

G19
OAL: 6.85" Height: 5" Width: 1.18" Barrel: 4.02"

Seems like they're pretty much the same size to me. Maybe some one with both a g19 and a fullsize m&p can take some measurements, as I know the glock length dimension is really the slide length, not the OAL, not sure where S&W measures the OAL.

Either way, I can't see it being profitable for S&W to make a new size pistol thats fractions of an inch smaller than what they already make.

The G19 is the most overrated pistol of all time, but some people are drawn to half measures like moths to a flame.

As demonstrated, the M&P FS is not only just marginally larger than a G19, it comes standard with two more rounds on board while also being more compact and size efficient than the oversized G17, which offers no capacity advantage.

The M&P 9c is marginally smaller than a G19 and carries more rounds than the slightly smaller G26. The M&P Shield is easier to conceal than the G26 and only gives up two rounds of capacity.

I'd conclude that by splitting the differences on the Bigger than needs be Glocks that S&W has already finished their homework.

8+1 single stack, 12+1, and 17+1 in more size efficient platforms >10+1, 15+1, and 17+1 in oversized fat butt platforms.
