Remington 700 in .223 + Threaded?
I am currently wanting a Remington 700 with the following features but can't seem to find a factory one on their website. Is there a variant out there that has the following:
1. Chambered in .223 2. Has a 20"+ medium to heavy barrel. 3. Threaded Muzzle The closest thing that I see on their website is a SPS Tactical, but it has no threaded barrel. It seems the only way I can do this is to buy the SPS Tactical and have it threaded. Any recommendations on who can thread it? Reason why I want it in .223 is because I have a YHM Phantom suppressor in 5.56. Thanks -Pat

The best you will probably be able to do is to get an SPS Tactical and get the barrel threaded by a gunsmith (typically like a $50 job).
Or you could get an SPS Varmint and have the barrel cut to the length of your liking and then threaded. |

What are the primary differences between the SPS Varmint and SPS Tactical. Just the barrel length and stock?

Yep, that's it. I have the varmint in .308 and it is a great shooter. I am not much of a fan of the Hogue stock that comes on the tactical at all; but to be fair, I will be changing the stock of my Varmint when the funds allow as well.
