Probably pick up a Delta Elite befroe the end of 2012. In '13 I'll get another revolver in 454 Casull. There is this grail gun I've been looking for. If I run into it, I'll pick that up too. Would like to get an AR-10 before the end of 2013.

Get the Colt!! I've owned a Kimber Pro Carry II and it was 100% reliable after I found JHPs that it liked. But Kimbers can be picky about HPs. I also had to redo the trigger on my Kimber to get a good 4lb trigger pull.

I just bought my first and only pistol for this year. It's also my first Colts. I got a Colts LW Commander XSE. It's very well made, fit and finish are great, and accurate out of the box. But the trigger on mine runs 6.5 to 8 lb pull and it's not consistent. So next week I'll be putting in a Cylinder and Slide Tactical II 4lb trigger kit and replacing the series 80 parts with Brownells Series 80 Trigger Pull Reduction Kit. So it should have a nice 4lb trigger pull after that. I redo all of my 1911s to make sure they have a 4lb trigger pull. I won't go any lighter than that for a carry gun.

I bought 500 rds of 185 grn JHPs at a gun show a couple of years ago and none of my 1911s would feed them reliably. The Colts ate them without a problem and they shot accurately also!!

Thanks for the info GF48 ... I've kinda been leaning in the direction of the Colt!!!

Within the next 12 months I plan to buy a Sig 1911 Target, Springfield 1911 Mil Spec in 38 Super, H&K USP 45 and Ruger Bisley Vaqueros in 357 and 45 LC.

I typically buy used so it is just a matter of finding the right deal. Although finding the Springfield 1911 Mil Spec in 38 Super might be a real chore. The only other manufacturers that make 1911 in 38 Super that I'm interested in are RIA and Colt (in the 1991 Series). I confess I haven't looked into the Colts much and have no idea what the real differences between a 1911 and a 1991 are.

I'm kinda interested in the Arsenal Strike One. Not sure if it'll be available by the end of the year though. At one time I was hearing September of this year but that didn't happen.

I am usually on the look out for used Colt's, and S&W revolvers, but if I could find a Colt XSE LW Commander, I would jump on it like a duck on a june bug!
All the lgs's around here say it's about a 18 month wait for one.
Have been thinking also about a new L frame 357.

I am looking for a light lever action carbine in .38 and .357 for having when I am working outside.

Got the .38/.357 combo in a Winchester 98.

Had to get some polishing done as it would not readily or reliable eject.

Other than that, the lever is alot of fun.

As for upcoming……I want to pick up a S&W M&P in 9mm-Dark Earth (as opposed the .40 I have it in now).

Nothing too fancy this year (I'm done unless Santa has some Unbelievable elves cranking low-cost gems)--I purchased a 9&45 handguns, a .22lr mousegun and a tactical 12g.

Now, if we are talking about "fiscal year" starting today I'm 0-0 so far ...

Bringing out the Big Bore Cannons! Just out of curiosity, what is your intended use for the .454? I was going to get one just for collective purposes but "for now" have put it on hold?

Now if you're in AK, of course, I don't ask this question .

Dragline45,

Interesting--calibers are "essentially" the same. Do you just prefer the semi platform relative to this move?

Reason I ask is I heard a similar situation at the range mid-week and we discussed the pros/cons of this with the person involved for a very interesting half-hour over lunch (caliber/platform changes always intrigue me ).

-Cheers

Last year the new gun was an SR1911 which is now gone. This year I have bought a 45/70, a single shot 20 gauge and just picked up a Glock 23.

As far as next year goes, looking at a Henry big boy in .44. Maybe a 1911 build in there too.

Is it OK to change your mind on what new guns??
Picked up these yesterday.
One is another S&W 24, only round but 3 inch that I own and the other is a completely useless gun that has no real value as a HD or hunting gun, but only as an “I got to have it” gun.
It’s a 44 also.

Bought a snubbie, an AR and another Glock this year. This completely filled my safe - at least for long guns. So my next purchase will be another safe. A bigger one The wife's gonna love that

Have a CZ 75 SA Target from the CZ custom shop on layaway, which will be mine in the next couple of weeks.

For 2013, S&W Shield in 9MM.

So far this calender year, in the handgun market, I have bought a Buck Mark .22 and a S&W mod. 27 .357. I still want a Coonan this year but it might have to be pushed to next year. I have bought a few more in the shotgun category.

EDIT: Forgot one an R1 1911 .45

Jeez, I just added another Winchester 94 to my collection. I hate it when you budget for all the firearms you want, then run across another 1 or 8 that you have to buy..lol.

LCR in .38, or a used .38 with a 4" barrel will likely be next.

Got an M&P 40 coming in this week. (which i guess makes it THIS fiscal year instead of the new fiscal year.... but we're splitting hairs here)
not planning on anything new per se, but I am planning on a new rail system and buttstock for my M4, and a barrel & stock upgrade for my Remington.

Looking at 6.8 and .300BLK uppers for my existing m4
