Load range report

Pressed some Hornady .223 55 grain VMAX with 25.5 grains of Varget for my RRA. This was an attempt to get some 55 grain loads that didn't look like buck shot on the target. I was able to get some 3/4 MOA hole with this load. After the 20 rounds I pressed, I loaded up some green tip 62 grain Winchester that I purchased recently and they delivered one ragged hole that you could cover with a nickel after 20 rounds. I guess my rifle prefers 62 grain bullets. Lol. Still 3/4 MOA isn't too bad for a first attempt at a new load.

Further details would be nice. What is your barrel's twist rate? What velocities are you seeing?

1 in 9 twist. No idea on the velocity. Should be somewhere around 3100 according to the reload manual.

I personally would invest in good chrony, that way no assumptions are made. It really adds to what is actually happening with loads.

Nice when a load comes together so well. Make sure you record all the detais so you can repeat it.
