.36 Navy (Pietta "Hartford")
Thanks to Howard31, I am the owner of a Pietta 1851 Navy "Hartford " , 36 cal.
The local range had a bp shoot yesterday. I entered the pistol competition. I know my .44 1860 Colt shoots high and my .44 Remington shoots low, so I entered with the .36 Navy. I had never fired it until the competition. Loaded 15 gr with a .375 ball. Shooting at metal targets. Hit the first 5 at close range and amazingly hit the first one at 50 yds. Tied with another shooter. So we fired at 50 yds. Until someone missed. I missed. Most accurate revolver I own. Still working on powder loads and sight adjustment on the others. Another shooter told me to try a 20 gr load as well. Will try it with some paper targets. Comments were also made about the quality look of the gun. |

44 "Hartford"
Thanks for the offer Howard. I have a nice 44 in stainless. Hard to justify two of the same type of guns to the misses.
