The Tavor is completely ambidextrous, so I'm not sure why you couldn't shoot one.

Bad news is supposedly there are going to be very few shipped like this
Good news there are far fewer left handed shooters than right so finding one might not bee as hard as you think.

I wonder how long it will be before right handed people are buying lefty models and converting them because of availability?

That was my concern, was the necessary modifications to make it ambi-.

The thought of tinkering on an expensive carbine like that makes me nervous.

You don't have to tinker at all. You take it apart more or less like you need to to clean it and put it together with the controls on the other side of the gun. THere is a video or two on youtube showing how easy it is. The charging handle is the only thing that might take more skill than simple cleaning.

Of course, you could just donate to the Second Amendment Foundation I was feeling pretty good, then I looked around and realized I am not swimming or on fire.
