Ruger and Henry why do you torment me so?

Ah Henry, you and your beautiful, well crafted pieces of art you call Rifles. The Golden Boys, Big Boys so refined and nostalgic. And those buttery smooth actions make my heart melt~

And,Ruger, your guns range from the refined amnd beautiful, to the practical.

Your #1s to the SR556 to SP101 all cry out to me, yet I have not the money to afford you...

Has there ever been a gun that spoke to you but you knew it would be FOREVER until you could fork over the money for it? For me right now it's a Henry .22LR Lever Action and a Ruger M77/357.

I am slowly adding 'favorites' to my armory.
Next on my list is a Ruger Model 77 in 44 magnum.
I am working on this as we sit here.

I've always loved Ruger #1's and wanted one..... but then some bolt action pops up that makes me forget about it. If they weren't so darn expensive (for me anyway) I'd have one by now. I was at the range and a guy had a #1 .375 H&H magnum and offered to let me shoot it. Man, I loved that rifle! It didn't kick any worse then my .300 Win Mag and I can shoot that all day.

Another time a guy had one of the old (in perfect shape) Martini-Henry's and let me shoot that. Super cool rifle but you have to make your own brass and handload it (black powder).

Originally it was a Marlin 1894css, but the wife doesn't like levers (blasphemy I know) and good luck trying to find one much less for a reasonable price.

Then I discovered the Ruger 77/357, and lusted for that until I finally got one recently. The wife approves of it and even gave the OK to get it!
