Reloading Bottleneck cases

Does anyone have an opinion on the RCBS lube die? Does it work well or is it more trouble than its worth. Lubing cases is a pain anyway but I wouldn't want it to run dry and then have to get a stuck case out of the re-sizing die. Looking for anything that might make reloading bottle necks easier and saw this but wanted some input on it before I consider trying it out.

Just get a can of Mink Oil shoe care stuff from your local big box store and you'll be good to go, plus it's a lot cheaper and readily available.

Just swipe your fingers over the mink oil and run lightly on the cases. You should be good for 3-5 cases depending on how much you get on your fingertips.

Cheaper yet, it has been suggested on here that Bagbalm works really well.

Ive got a case feeder on a progressive. I would like to be able to some how lube 100 - 200 cases at a time and pour them into the feeder. Would bagbalm work with that? I'm loading 30-30 right now but also load 30-06 and .308.

I think the lube die is for lubing cast bullets not the brass cases.

Get a can of one shot (or something similar) and spray cases then put them in the case feeder.

Ok one shot it is then. Now do I need to worry about cleaning the cases off afterwards? I'm using a lube pad now and everything gets to be kind of a greasy mess. These might seem beginner questions but in a way I am I guess. I haven't done this for probably 15 or more years and things get forgotten. I think. maybe.... what's my name again? lol

Do you put the cases in a Baggie and then spray them with One Shot? Ever worry about getting One Shot inside the case mouth?

For slower going with rifle cases, I really like Redding's Imperial case lube and neck lube.

The only press I have is the Dillon XL650 progressive with the case feed and also powder check station. Love the press but I can see where it might be better for pistol rounds and carbide dies. (Made an easy modification to stop primer feed during setup or adjusting if anyone has a 650 and is interested. Surprised Dillon doesn't do this) I have always loaded 30-06 but ran the brass over the lube pad before dropping in the brass hopper. That was as mentioned before 15 or so years ago. Now I am back into it with my son, loading 30-30 and just wondering if something new has come out during my absence from reloading to handle the lubing of the dies. Or if not new maybe a better way of dealing with it. I saw the lube die and thought maybe that might be easier. Though I didn't see if there was anyway of telling if it was getting low on lube. Just looking for thoughts and ideas on the subject of lubing cases for a progressive I suppose.

also I reload cause its cheaper. If I can keep a 2 or 3 inch group at 100 yards I'm more than happy. I'm not really concerned with accuracy per say, I shoot more to just shoot. Hit, the can, swing the plate, ring the bell. And spending time with my son. Being able to light a match at 300 yards isn't what I strive for. I am sure there are lots of things I could do to make my rounds better but I just want them to go bang and not BOOM.

Ya, a stuck case is never good. Can sure slow things down.

if i had a progressive i would just suck it up and buy a lube die. yes expensive but well worth it

I don't load in bulk, using my Lee Turret Press without the index linkage. I am a 'batch mainframe programmer' by trade, so doing one operation at a time is standard for me. I like Hornady One Shot spray lube - unless I am reforming rifle cases, then I use Hornady Unique case lube.
First I have read of a 'lube die'.......
