How do you get front hood on to an 88 or a 70?
It will not slip on easy and I do not want to snap anything or scratch the barrel.
Yes, I am a bit of a dodo in the workshop

Line up the lip of the sight hood with the groove on the sight base and whack it with a soft-faced hammer. It's not pretty or delicate, it just is.
