So im reading the load data on 45 acp and was wondering if a load calls for a 185 gr hornaday fmj can i keep the same load but instead of a 185 gr could i use a 200 gr as long as i keep the same bullet manufacture? thanks.

no. generally you can use heavier bullet data as a reference to load lighter bullets of similar construction but not the other way arround.185grn loads are covered in most manuals and on alliant and hodgden websites. cross reference data with bullet of similar design if cant find exact match to bullets you have and compare powder charges to come to a starting spot and work up to desired performance.GSPMAN

I would say no since you will need to use a recipe for a heavier bullet. If it is a recipe for the same powder, then it will call for less powder for a heavier bullet.

Same powder load + heavier bullet = more pressure

Same powder load + lighter bullet = less pressure

Scenario one could result in a KABOOM
