At 25 yds, that's well within "minute of bad guy".
I'm not going to give you the usual "just learning how to shoot" speech, 'cause chances are, you know that stuff... so keep playing with it. Cheers, C

That's all my .45 Commander will do, "minute of pie plate", at 25 yards. I read something written by Col. Cooper, about targets being in range when they appear to be the width of the front sight; I think my gun will keep all the rounds within the width of the front sight at 25 yards.

Yep, just starting to shoot centerfire beyond self defense distances.
Just for fun and relaxation. .22 rimfire on steel at 50 yds is the most fun I've ever had with a pistol!

Now, that is the TRUTH, right there!
I have the wide-notch rear sight from Novak, and it leaves too much room side-to-side for bullseye shooting. When I chose the sight I didn't think I'd be shooting out to 25, just IDPA.

This is going to sound a little cheesy... but humor me.
![]() Wrap 1 or 2 layers of electrical tape around the front sight until you've built it up enough to fill the rear sight notch a little better. Not great I know, and not exactly crisp target sights, but it's cheap, easy and reversible. You can also do the same with the rear sight, but it's a bit more fiddly. C
