OAL Reduction

I had actually posted this question within another thread to keep from posting another thread but didn't get any responses.

Question: Can I reduce my OAL from 1.164 to 1.150 using a mid range charge w/o having to do another workup safely?

I did an original workup of Titegroup and 4.0 grains was the best for my gun at an OAL of 1.164. I am wanting to reduce my OAL to 1.150 using the same charge. This charge cycles my gun pretty good and no signs of over pressure were visible. Can I reduce the OAL to 1.150 without having to do a workup since 4.0 grains is a low mid-range load. The OAL they used in the book was like 1.10 with start out at 3.7 with max at 4.5.

Thoughts?

9mm titegroup 4.0 gr. OAL currently 1.164 want to reduce to 1.150. Case trim to .750. 115 FMJ-RN.

Yes, you are well below the Hodgdon recommendations of 4.5 to 4.8 grains of Titegroup. No problem at all reducing to 1.15 or even a little shorter. I use 4.7 grains of Titegroup under a 115 plated bullet at 1.14" with good results.

Thank you space. That's what I was thinking but wanted to double check. The manual I had referenced was the Sierra. I think they have it at 3.7-4.5 @1.10 as the OAL.

Thanks again.

Safe, but would not necessarily shoot the same. 15 thousandths difference in seating could change the group size, although not too significantly at handgun ranges.

Yeah I'm mainly shortening the OAL to help feed issues while shooting steel challenge. Plus switching from Unique to titegroup.
