Candidly due to (lack of) quality, I'd be hard pressed to ccw a Para-anything.

My experience's with Para's do not mirror that of Officer's Match .
Have had several Para's over the years and only had trouble with one. A C7.45 LDA model. Sent it to Tenn. to Para's 'then' state-side warranty repair facility and it was sent back repaired about 1 1/2 wks later. It has/does strongly prove itself to the point it has been my cool weather ccw for several yrs now. |

Good to hear shortwave. I just can get past the idea of a cast slide. I'm really not fond of cast frames, but a cast slide just is a no-go for me.

Unfortunately, my experience with the Para C6 was negative. Unreliable to the extreme.

The largest pistol Para has ever made is the P14.45. Physically, it's no larger than a standard, Government model Colt 1911, but the double stack magazine adds to the weight. Para has offered a model with a 6-inch slide, I believe, but that's only the slide and barrel that's different. The frame isn't any larger and the magazines don't hold more than 14 rounds. Quote:

The pot metal para i had went back to the store. Have a colt now. Spend a little more money for some real steel.

Ruger has been nvestment casting for years. I have not seen anything that indicates para slides are MIM, are you sure about that?
