Sightron SII any experience?

I just came across a Sightron SII in 3-9x42 for $179 plus its got a $50 rebate. does anybody have any experience with these scopes? I had never heard of them before. It would be going on my Ruger M77 Mark II in 260 Rem. The main application would be whitetail hunting with most shots in the 50-250 yard range. Any imput would be appreciated!

I am only responding because you're not getting any answers, as I have no personal experience but am also considering purchasing an SII to replace the crappy Bushnell I have on my deer rifle. From the research I've done they hve received good reviews, and seem to be a good value/bang for the buck. I am also considering Vortex, as I have heard the same thing about them.

I had also checked out some reviews and did like what I saw! One issue I saw several times was it seemed like if you didn't hold your head just right, the sight picture was distorted. I didn't know if that was anything to be concerned about or not. Mine is also to replace an old Bushnell Banner so I figure pretty much anything would be better than that one.

I don't know about that model, but I use a Sightron on one of my bench rest rifles. The optics are as good as any of the high priced scopes out there.

I have one is a 4X16 the other 6.5X20 both are Sightron II Bigsky models. These are very good scopes for the $ spent. I have had no issues with them at all. My son has a Sightron 3X9 on his 7 Mag and has held up very well. IMO dollar for dollar there as good as if not better then any thing on the market in same price range.

I've used Sightron SII Big Sky scopes on two rifles. They are exceptional.

The only issues I have with my Sightron is that the clicks are mushy compared to other scopes I have. And I turn the knobs alot. The optics are clear and the tracking is excellent and repeatable. They are a good bargain.

I have one on my 6MMBR ( more power but same scope) Very nice,crisp clean and very good tracking

I have a Sightron 36X SII Target scope on my Remington 700 .22-250 varmint rifle.
It is bright and clear and is excellent.

It replaced a Weaver T-36 which is a good scope but not in the class of a Sightron. The Weaver is not as bright in low light conditions (probably because it is a much older design and at 36 power it doesn't let as much light through).

I don't think you will go wrong with a Sightron.

Excellent bang for the buck. I have the Sightron II Big Sky silhouette scope, and both clarity and eye relief are top notch.

You won't be disappointed with a Sightron.
I have 5 of them. 4-SIII 6-24x50's and 1-SII 4-16x42
