Are you willing to go 223 or just 556?

Personally, I consider $0.30 per round plus shipping to be my target price for 55 grain XM193 or similar. Seems like now it is getting more difficult to find for under $0.35 per round though. The more exotic the type of ammo (polymer tip, heavy weight, etc.), the cost will climb significantly.

I found some .223 at Cabelas this weekend for .30 per round and bought a few but .556 was a little more expensive so I'm curious about the price...

$0.40/rd is a pretty standard rate for 55 grain in brass cases (commercial) or M193/M855 surplus.

Back in July case price on LC M193 was .30 to my door. It appears to be up to .35-40 a round shipped now, that's crazy increase for 60 days...damn election.

Yeah, brass has really gone up in price. Tula and Wolf are good options if your gun will fire them. And, you can get FMJ and HP for very little diff in price. My Spikes will shoot steel-cased all day long so I use it almost exclusively now.

You may also get decent deals at gun shows. Here is a listing of gun shows across the US.
