Just Picked Up My $729 Colt AR

So here's how it all happened...

2 years ago PSA was having an insane sale on M&P rifles (back when they were relatively untested) and I picked up a PSX for $720 OTD then sent in my 100 rebate offer so I had $620 in the rifle:

Well I sold that rifle last week for $1050

Then bought this Colt annodized FDE Magpul 6920 for $1159 OTD

I'll post a range report and review once I get a few hundred rounds through it but I just wanted to show off the new toy

Great looking AR, both the Smith and Colt. I just bought a M&P 15 Sport for $650 at my local Academy, and it's the best AR I have ever shot. It doesn't have a dust cover, or foward assist, but that doesn't do a thing to accuracy or how the gun functions. Plus I never had to use them anyway so it doesn't bother me. In this modern day, most of the time you pay for cheap stuff, you get s***, thats definately not the case with the M&P 15 Sport. My next AR purchase is the Colt SP6920. But congrats on your purchase, thats a very nice AR.

I sold it for $1050 but I don't think it's a bad deal. They're going for $1225-1400 new and it had a relatively low round count...I think it was fair. I just got an insane deal on it back when I bought it.

Are all 6920s marked "M4 Carbine" now? That's the first I've ever seen of that.

Colt changes up the rollmarks right around the time they dropped the LE only marked models. All of their lowers are now marked with M4 Carbine Cal 5.56mm. I've also seen photos of a recent production Socom version of the 6920 marked M4A1 Carbine,without any caliber stampings.

That's my understanding as well. Some still have the LE serial numbers which mine has (bought from a LE/MIL dealer, not sure if that's why or not...?).
