If I knew you were trying so hard, I could have spent your money MUCH faster... next time, just send it to me, you won't have to wait so long.

I also just got done building my ar15 with a budget I set at $850.00 not a penny more, I wanted to prove to myself that I could build one with the parts I prefer than buy a plain store model for about the same price. I knew I could stay within budget cause my Gun-fu is strong.
I can tell you right now my Gun-fu was not as strong as I thought $1781.00 was my total price and I don't know how that happened, I am weak, it just got out of hand. Never, never again.......well... not until next year.

Y'know, this thread shows why it makes sense to buy a quality AR in the first place. The OP did by starting with PSA but so often you see a lower quality rifle taken well over $1,000 yet the basic parts are suspect.
For example, my first AR build the ArmaLite upper with BCG, charging handle and stock handguards was $500 while a BCM configured the same would be about $620. Now the ArmaLite isn't terrible, but it does fall short. Today I'd gladly pay the $120 to bring it up to spec. And as new buyers learn more about the platform this likely is a common lament. |
