40 S&W 180 HAP load

Anybody out there explore loading this round with either Power Pistol or Longshot for this bullet?

No, but it looks similar to the heavy plated projectiles I've been using for IDPA and practice from Powerbond Bullets(40SW 180gn). 6.1gn of PowerPistol is my only load right for it right now, and has lighter recoil that provides very quick follow up shots. I hope this helps.

It's actually pretty low of a charge as-is, when compared to Alliant's load data at 7.2gn MAX.

My starting load was 6.5gn, but the muzzle flash was pretty excessive. Working down a few tenths of a grain softened it up with a considerable decrease in muzzle flash.

Please make sure you're checking out the numbers first in reloading manuals before you take anyone's word for it. That being said, this load works for me

Edited "a few grains" to a few tenths of a grain. Been a long day.

My starting load "was" going to be 6.5gr after researching my reload manual for a middle of the road load. Thanks for the input, it's always nice to read from experience.
