What Can Be Attached To This Gas Block Rail?

All of my AR's have picatinny quad rails where I switch bipods from one to another. I just bought this barrel used and cannot figure out if anything can be hung under the gas block with this dinky set up? Any ideas?

Someone emailed me and said it was a bayonnette lug. Hmmmmm, something I have no use for at this time!

the ontario knives m9 bayonnet is whats supposed to go there. I'll trade you gas blocks. I could use a bayonnet lug.

Also there are bayonnet lug flashlight mounts. I've seen them, but i've only seen them attached to army m4's (with the triangle front sights). Who knows, they might work.

How long is your barrel and what gas system do you use?

For the bayonet lug to work properly you need a 14.5 BBL with the carbine gas system or a 16" BBL with the midi Gas system.

You could attach black leather fringe like Harley riders put on their bikes, or a balloon, that way you could easily check the wind.

I would just grind the bayonet lug off and touch up with cold blue. Here's a before/after with a bull barrel size FSB I dehorned, bayo lug and sling point.

One less thing to snag on, plus it looks better IMHO.

I'm a tan leather guy myself.
