Question about Redding 2 piece rifle dies
The Redding 2 piece .223 rifle dies includes FL and ST dies. Their info says:
The seating die (ST) includes bullet guide, built-in crimping ring and the proper seating plug. What kind of "built in" crimping ring is this - roll or tapered? Redding offers a Taper Crimp Die but is it different than the one with the ST die? If so, can the ST die be adjusted not to crimp and still seat the bullet to the desired length? Thanks.

No common bottle neck cartridge seaters include a taper crimper. That's a specialty item and it really isn't needed anyway. Any seater can easily be adjusted up so it can't crimp at all.

RCBS makes a small base taper crimp die set. Roll crimp is standard.
