Is a 8x57 norm simply a 8x57 ????

I have a sporting Mauser from the 30's. On the barrel it's marked 8x57 NORM. IS THAT A STANDARED 8x57 or something different.
Thank you.
Jon

You'll have to slug it, or have a gunsmith slug it to see what the bore diameter is. Your best bet is a full chamber cast with the throat.

That's not a standard chamber stamp. As such, you can't assume anything about what it may mean.

Do you mean, "...slug it and make a chamber cast"? https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...norma_brass_fo

Please do NOT post the same question in multiple forums.

Closed as a duplicate.
