Stevens model 16
I have a new firing pin for a Stevens model 16, .22 cal. rifle. Does anyone know how the firing pin is retained in the breech? The only exploded view I have of this gun shows either a retaining pin or ball above the firing pin itself.
If its a pin, I dont know how its installed. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!! |

IIRC, your Crackshot's breechblock should have a pin hole in the side, that crosses the FP channel.
![]() The recess in the top of the FP is the home of the pin (the above pic shows the FP upside-down); the length of the recess allows FP movement, back/forth. The FP is installed in it's channel 1st, then the retainer pin drifted/driven until fully seated. Make sure the FP is free to move, after install. ![]() .
