My New "COFFIN GUN"
This here gun get's throwed in the coffin with me when I go, I intend to be its last owner!! Made in 1892 or 1893 according to the serial #, this 1873 Winchester is in 32-20 (WCF). Problems, a few, need new sites front and rear, the lever spring I'll either replace or re-shape the original the re- temper it, lever to post connection is sloppy...maybe just need to shim it and the bbl is pretty pitted. Lands and groove are there and the pitting is pretty uniform. Once I get her up and runnin' depending on the accuracy, I may decide to have the bbl relined. If you noticed, there's no dust cover on it, but the previous owner threw in an entire assembly with the sale, just need to age and install it. SHE'S A BEAUTY !!

Just a heads up: it is all to common that the "bury with me" are stolen by grave workers.

Yeah, and tell us where the cemetery is, in case the grave diggers don't want it.

In Florida all burials must be in a concrete vault/grave liner to protect the very shallow ground water making it easy to dig up graves for the purpose of robbery.
To counter this it's illegal to bury anyone with valuables in the coffin. May be the same in your neck of the woods. Sweet rifle.

Careful some of these folks might dig a brother up for a nice Winchester.

Like the old fellow who wanted to be buried sitting at the wheel of his classic Caddy, with his shootin' irons in the trunk.
And so he was. A mighty big hole, too. Some future archeologist is going to be mighty happy, one day. And you better hope the funeral director isn't a greedy soul. Or he just might dump your old carcass directly in the hole and take his expensive casket back home.

What's your full name, date of birth and cemetery of choice. Some museum somewhere needs a donation and I want a tax write off.

The one who closes the lid for the last time is the one to watch out for. So I've been told.
