If you have been looking for a "real world" precision rifle course, this is it. While we all like to ding steel or shoot sub-minute groups at a 1000 yards while laying on our bellies and waiting for the perfect conditions both physically and environmentally, Pat makes it very clear that this is not the norm and a that most schools of thought are misled on this. Position shooting is critical and while prone shooting is the industry standard it is not the real world standard. Operationally the shot will be made on “Target Time” not shooter time. This class is not categorized as a “sniper” school and Pat does an excellent job at keeping a clear picture drawn for all the shooters in the class as to what the real world engagements are most likely to be for the military, police and civilian shooters.

If you have been looking for a "real world" Advanced Tactics Handgun Course, this is it. Pat Goodale and his staff have developed an intense and focused two day program that focuses on the distances encountered in most handgun engagements.

Heavy emphasis is placed on deployment of the handgun from concealment, close distances, movement and close-proximity to structures, other persons and vehicles. It features extensive use of reality-based scenarios, shooting house work including low light shooting, vehicles, and moving/reactive target engagement. Scenarios requiring interaction with role players and shoot/no-shoot decision making will be conducted.

Attendees must have completed Defensive Handgun I (prior completion of Defensive Handgun II is strongly encouraged).

The Executive Solutions Advanced Defensive Handgun 2 Class:

This is NOT a basic pistol class, it is focused on advanced handgun manipulation and operation. This is a progressive class that builds on the skills taught in our Advanced Concealed Carry Class and our Advanced Defensive Handgun 1 class.

All shooting is done from the draw. Use of cover garments is encouraged but not mandatory. Most of the shooting is done whilst moving, kneeling and prone positions. We will introduce you dynamic shooting, multiple target engagement, malfunction drills, reloading techniques, stress fire, in fight decision making, sub-conscious sight picture, use of cover / types of cover, off hand manipulation and one-handed shooting, loading, malfunction clearing and manipulation skills.

Progressing through the class the student will build a “fight ready” mind set. Students will fire a minimum of 400 rounds during this full days training.

Prerequisites: All students must have a concealed weapons permit and have successfully completed our Advanced Defensive Handgun 1 class (OR SIMILAR).

Additional Equipment: OPEN MIND! At least 3 magazines (4 – 6 is better) a magazine carrier of some types to keep your loaded magazines on your body whilst shooting. A good belt, quality strong side holster (that does not require 2 hands to re-holster firearm) , baseball cap, food and drinks, sun screen, sweat towel, shooting gloves, elbow and knee pads, along with clothing that will allow for work on the ground (no open top shoes or v neck tops). .22LR conversion pistols allowed.

Location: Class will Start at 9.30am on Sept 10th on a private range at The Okeechobee Shooting Sports facility.

Students will receive all necessary handbooks, papers, charts, and additional coursework included with the cost of the course. Lou Ann has been in law enforcement since 1990 and currently works for the patrol division of a Michigan-based police department. Lou Ann has had many roles during her law enforcement career to include uniform patrol, bike patrol, undercover narcotics and prostitution operations, and a temporary assignment with a DEA Task Force. She holds a Master's degree in Human Performance Technology and Instructional Design from University of Michigan.

Lou Ann specializes in training female officers, and is a certified firearms and defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines. She is a Team One Network adjunct instructor and Master Pistol Instructor. She instructs locally and nationally in the areas of instructor development, training for specialty units and officer survival to include presentations at: The American Society for Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), The International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA), and The International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), conferences. Lou Ann also serves on the Board of Directors for IALEFI and was named ILEETA's "Iron Cop" for 2009 conference.

Lou Ann authored the "Firearms Training" chapter in IPMBA's Complete Guide to Public Safety Cycling 2nd edition has authored many articles in Law and Order, Police Marksman, IALEFI'S "Firearms Instructor" and the IPMBA Newsletter. Class Description: Aim Fast, Hit Fast is intended to pick up where most marksmanship training ends. All shooting involves a balance between accuracy and speed. Away from the practice range, a shooter does not get to choose how much time he will get to break a shot … shooting becomes reactive and all timeframes are determined by the situation rather than comfort or habit. The goal of this class is twofold. First, we will come to understand the critical balance between accuracy and speed for each individual shooter. Second, we will improve each shooter’s ability to deliver accurate, rapid fire in shorter timeframes to maximize his effectiveness shooting a pistol under stress. Skills to be covered include marksmanship, presentation from the holster, reloads, multiple targets, and shooting on the move.

Prerequisites: This is a fast-paced class suited to shooters who have already achieved proficiency with a handgun. At a minimum, prospective students should be capable of performing the following drill(s) on demand:

• Fire and hit a 3×5 card at 5 yards on demand (both double and single action as appropriate)
• Draw, fire 1 round, reload, fire 2 rounds (3 hits on 8″ circle) at 7 yards in eight seconds

Individuals who cannot meet these requirements at the beginning of class will not be able to keep up with the fast and demanding pace of instruction.

Equipment Needed:
• Reliable semiauto handgun
• Duty, range, or concealment holster with suitable gunbelt
• Enough magazines, pouches, etc., to carry a minimum of 50 rounds to the firing line
• Minimum 1,000 rounds of ammunition (1,200+ recommended; bring more, shoot more)
• Wrap-around eye protection; ear protection; brimmed hat

Instructor: Todd Louis Green has worked in the firearms industry since 1998, including instructing for the NRA Range, Beretta, and SIG-Sauer. He has over 1,000 hours of firearms and combatives training from such prestigious trainers as Ken Hackathorn, Ernest Langdon, Larry Vickers, SIG Academy, and Blackwater. A 3-time “Advanced” rated shooter at Rogers Shooting School, Todd is also a graduate of the NRA Tactical Pistol Instructor Development program and a 3 division Master-ranked IDPA competitor. Bob Vogel is the a two-time World and 12-time National Champion across three separate shooting disciplines (including current IPSC Production World Champion, IDPA SSP World Champion, and USPSA Production National Champion). Bob also holds the distinction of being the law enforcement officer with the all-time record for World and National Championships in the action pistol disciplines.


The Fundamentals Class is for USPSA and IDPA competitors who have match experience but little formal training. It is designed for those who have decided that they love the sports, and are ready to make their first large leap in skill level and training. The class will cover fundamentals and demonstration of a number of techniques. Bob will discuss equipment, dry and live fire practice, and take questions. On the range, students will be run through a variety of drills designed to develop skills the numerous different skill sets needed in action pistol competition and learn how to analyze and break down a stage. This class is open to all shooters who hold any current classification in USPSA or IDPA.

The Advanced Class is for the die-hard action pistol competitor who is ready for reaching and winning at the next level. This course will cover similar topics as above, but will move faster and progress to advanced skills analysis/development and stage evaluation. Throughout the class, Bob will also address the mental side of the game, which he feels is a critical component to competitive success. He will also help the student develop a tailored practical maintenance program and provide one-on-one analysis of the competitor’s strengths and weaknesses. Each student will receive individual attention and be given the best possible advice on taking themselves to the next level. This class is only open to USPSA/IDPA competitors who hold a classification of “B”/Sharpshooter or better.

Minimum round count for each class is 1,000.

About Larry Vickers
Larry Vickers is a retired Special Operations Master Sergeant. His 20 years of service was spent in US Army Special Operations with fifteen of those years as a member of 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta (Delta Force). During his time with Delta Force, Larry was involved in weapons research and development and served as a combat marksmanship instructor in addition to being an assaulter.

Larry has served as a design consultant for HK, Schmidt & Bender, Surefire, and Insight Technology and is considered one of the best 1911 pistolsmiths in the country. He is a frequent guest on the history channel show Weaponology and the host of Tactical Impact and Tactical Arms.

About the class
Topics covered include: malfunction drills, shooting on the move as well as strong hand and weak hand shooting. Introduction to timed fire drills and evaluations based on class skill level. Drills are typically conducted at distances from 7 to 10 yards. Concealed carry methods are also covered.

Note that the exact course content can and will vary depending on the skill level of the participants in the class.

• Serviceable handgun of at least 9mm Para caliber
• Serviceable holster
• Minimum 1 double magazine pouch

Prerequisites
Participants in this class should be experienced shooters only. Participants should have an intimate knowledge of their handgun and be very well acquainted with the rules of firearm safety. No time is spent teaching students "which end of the gun the bullets come out". Participants should know how to run their gun, work from a holster, and do it safely. Safety violations can result in removal from the class without refund.

Price: $480 for two days.

Hey all, just wanted to pass on that there will be defensive handgun training opportunities in northeast Ohio. An Introduction to Defensive Handgun will be offered by Great Lakes Outdoor Supply and dates are currently being assigned. This course will be instructed by a certified Law Enforcement trainer and is intended for those new to defensive handgun use. Advanced classes may be added in the future.

This course is designed for those new to handguns and/or wish to obtain the basic skills necessary to properly handle a handgun in a defensive setting. This is a 6 hour course and the cost is $75 per person (price subject to change) and there is a 15 student limit per session. There will be one course scheduled every month from April through August. The first course will be held Saturday, April 21st. from 8am to 2pm. The course will include both classroom and live fire exercises, held on an OUTDOOR range. The minimum round count for this course is 500 rounds, but it is suggested the students who are able bring more, as some groups may progress through the live fire portion faster, and more shooting time will be allotted. Topics covered include basic weapon handling and manipulation, basic marksmanship skills, shooting while moving, shooting from barricade positions and more.
