Course material includes refining practical marksmanship and gun handling skills, emphasis on shooting with movement, refining the speed/accuracy equation, extended range shooting, multiple threat management, use of cover/concealment , low light shooting and shooting from concealed carry if desired. building functional, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is
designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform
for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle. A heavy emphasis
is placed upon commonality of body mechanics between skill sub-sets, which

Registration

Please sign-up via phone 602-625-2523 or email at Cecil.Burch@gmail.com

Course cost is $400 (payable by credit card or cash)

This class is not recommended for beginning shooters. Students should be relatively fit as this is a contact class. April 25-26, 2009 - Point Shooting Progressions - Sloughhouse, CA

http://www.suarezinternationalstore....ROD&ProdID=684
Your Price
$400.00

Detailed Description
April 25-26, 2009
Point Shooting Progressions
Sloughhouse, California

Force on force training has proven beyond any argument that the traditional shooting range methods are simply not suitable for reactive gunfighting. In this course, Suarez International Specialist Instructor Roger Phillips will teach you the "Fight Continuum".

Roger has studied extensively with Suarez International. He has also researched virtually every threat focused shooting system for many years. This course distills it all into one well thought out and extremely applicable system that dovetails neatly into the regular Close Range Gunfighting matrix, presenting the full aspect of the integration of sighted and unsighted fire at CQB distances.

Duration: 2 days
Ammunition: Approximately 1500 rounds (Minimum)
Requirements: Pistol, Carry Holster, 3 Magazines and Magazine pouch and Range Safety Gear
Instructor: Roger Phillips

http://www.suarezinternationalstore....ROD&ProdID=684

Due to the economy and the price of ammo, the PSP round count "minimum" can be adjusted to the individuals situation, preference, and goal. The more that I teach this course, the better I am getting at bringing the students skill to a very high level, with less and less ammo. What started as a 1800 round course, has comfortable changed to a 1500 round, and is now completely doable at a 1200 round course. This stream lining of the curriculuum leads me to believe that students will soon be able to shoot the PSP with 1000 rounds.

As I said, this is all up to you. You can shoot 1000 rounds or 1800 rounds. The students that shoots a higher round count will probably walk away with a more solid skill set. But if ammo expense is holding you back from taking the PSP, I am here to tell you that I can teach you what you need to know with 1000 rounds.

IMHO the physical skill sets (ie:shooting) are very important. But it is the intertwining of the physical skill sets with the mental aspect of the fight that is the true value of the course. This is what the course is all about. Once you own the concepts of what I teach, the actual "up keep" training expense to keep it ingrained is very inexpensive. This up keep can be done with .22 conversion kits and airsoft guns. As long as you understand the "grip continuum" and the effects of the convulsive grip on recoil control, you only need to shoot full powered live fire periodically.

Do not let the initial ammo expense keep you from learning the things that you need to know. Look at the big picture....the long run in ammo savings.

Threat Focused Pistol Quick Kill with Brownie

Introduction to drawing and shooting while moving out of the kill zone from 0-10 feet by 7677. Several important core concepts/components will be extensively covered under the guidance of all three instructors which will allow the student the best chance to successfully negotiate the time/distance problems faced on the streets.

Extreme Close Quarters hand to hand [ H2H ] skills which lead to integrating the pistol into the fight by all three instructors. This portion will also cover training in various physical skills for the gun disarm and gun traps by all three instructors.

Close Quarters H2H Defensive skills against a knife. This will be a round-table hands on segment where the students will have an opportunity to move among all of the instructors who will cover the best unarmed defensive edged weapons skills from different systems.

Force on Force with Airsofts utilizing the previously covered training from "in your face" out to 21 feet.

Since Matt, 7677 and I held the "Sightless in Tucson" event in October of 2005, we have all received constant requests to come together again for a H2H combatives class that would integrate the pistol skills and defensive edged weapons training into the mix. Here the chance to get hard core established real world skills from three instructors who are individually recognized for their various talents.

This course allows the student to learn effective close quarters street skills integrating the handgun and knife into the mix to survive an encounter in a two day package that's not only affordable but brings the talents of three instructors into one location.

Suggested Lodging
  1. The range owner highly recommends the Super 8, Comfort Inn, or Brighton Inn in Brighton, CO that are closest to the range. He says they are very new, offering clean, spacious rooms.
  2. If you were to fly into Denver Int'l Airport, here is a map showing lodging near DIA (I'd tend to avoid the motels adjacent to I-70 and Pena Blvd.)
  3. Motels at E. 120th Ave at I-25 in Thornton, CO would be closer to downtown Denver, and also have a wider selection of restaurants and things to do Saturday night.

Please clean up this thread,

Could we get someone to go through this thread and delete everything that is out of date. Who cares about a training class that happened last year or the year before that or the year before that.

Ok, I'm off my soap box, until next time,,,,

Thank you in advance.

MDTS Utah Non-Resident Permit Course - 6/14- South Shore Sportsmen, Merrick NY

UTAH NON-RESIDENT PERMIT COURSE

WHERE:
South Shore Sportsmen, Merrick, NY http://www.thesouthshoresportsman.com/

WHEN:
Sunday, June 14th. 10am-2pm

COST:
$145 single participant pre-register, $165 at the door. $10 discount/person group of two!

COURSE INFORMATION:
This four hour course is required by law for those over 21 who meet the eligibility
requirements for the Utah Non-Resident Pistol Permit. This course is for those
living outside the State of Utah, who would like the benefit of traveling outside NY
State with a concealed firearm in up to 33 states. While a NY State permit is NOT
required to take this course, the Utah permit is NOT VALID within NY State, and
therefore cannot be used to purchase, possess, transport, handle, carry or use a
firearm in NY State. Many NY State permit holders have a Utah multi-state
permit. When traveling out of state, check the current version of laws applying to
concealed carry. An unfortunate "brush with the law" outside NY State can affect
your status as a NY State permit holder. Act prudently and plan your trip out of
state with directions for travel -- and directions for legal concealed carry! Well
over 200 permits have been issued to New Yorkers through our courses. Permits
generally arrive at your door 60 to 70 business days after your paperwork is
received in Utah.

Check out http://www.bci.utah.gov for complete details on the Utah permit

The class focuses on seven key areas, taught in two sections:
Section I - handgun safety, operation, shooting fundamentals, safe handling.
Section II - Select sections of Utah Criminal & Traffic Code & US Federal
Firearms Regulations (Title 18, Chapter 44)

The following quick web link will give you all the details on the permit and its
acceptance across the USA: http://www.bci.utah.gov
