This is a course to teach you how to fight with a handgun. You MUST have a solid background in firearms safety & Marksmanship before taking this course.

this course goes far beyond the Basic Handgun Course. Class Description:
Aim Fast, Hit Fast is intended to pick up where most marksmanship training ends. All shooting involves a balance between accuracy and speed. Time allows us to concentrate on proper sight alignment and a slow, deliberate trigger pull for maximum precision. Therefore, the faster we are forced to shoot, the less accurate we expect to be. Away from the practice range, a shooter does not get to choose how much time he will get to break a shot … shooting becomes reactive and all timeframes are determined by the situation rather than comfort or habit.

The goal of this class is twofold. First, we will come to understand the critical balance between accuracy and speed for each individual shooter. Second, we will improve each shooter’s ability to deliver accurate, rapid fire in shorter timeframes to maximize his effectiveness shooting a pistol under stress. Skills to be covered include marksmanship, presentation from the holster, reloads, multiple targets, and shooting on the move.

Prerequisites:
This is a fast-paced class suited to shooters who have already achieved proficiency with a handgun. At a minimum, prospective students should be capable of performing the following drill(s) on demand:

• Fire and hit a 3x5 card at 7 yards on demand (both double and single action as appropriate)
• Draw, fire 1 round, reload, fire 2 rounds (3 hits on 8” circle) at 7 yards in seven seconds

Individuals who cannot meet these requirements at the beginning of class will not be able to keep up with the fast and demanding pace of instruction.

Equipment Needed:
• Duty or concealment handgun
• Duty or concealment holster, suitable duty or concealment gunbelt
• All necessary magazines, pouches, etc., to carry a minimum of 50 rounds to the firing line
• Minimum 1,500 rounds of ammunition
• Wrap-around eye protection; ear protection; brimmed hat

Instructor Bio:
Todd Louis Green has worked in the firearms industry for the past ten years as well as instructing for the NRA Range, Beretta, and SIG. He has received over 700 hours of professional firearms and combatives training from such prestigious trainers as Ken Hackathorn, Ernest Langdon, Larry Vickers, Special Tactical Services, Simunition, SIG Academy, and Blackwater. A three-time “Advanced” rated shooter at Rogers Shooting School, Todd is also a graduate of the NRA Tactical Pistol Instructor Development program and a Master-ranked shooter in three divisions of International Defensive Pistol Association competition. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University as well as a Juris Doctor from Catholic University. Todd is a certified SIGARMS, Beretta, and Glock armorer; certified Simunition force-on-force instructor; and a presenter at numerous IALEFI Annual Training Conferences.

ShivWorks will be offering their excellent PUC and ECQC 1&2 class on October 3, 4, 5 in Houston. This is probably the only time this year these classes will be offered in Texas.


The PUC class will be Friday evening and the ECQC class will be Sat. and Sunday.

Here are the class descriptions

PUC class.

The ShivWorks Practical Unarmed Combat core concepts module is a 4
hour fundamental block of instruction that introduces the student to the
parameters and context of criminal assault. The student will learn how criminals
actually assault citizens in the real world and will initially focus on strategies and
tactics for challenging and preempting the potential assailant. The instruction will
then shift to immediate action procedures for spontaneous assault and how to
regain initiative with non-stylized basic tools.

ECQC 1-2 class.

The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts I & II (ECQC 1&2) course is a 20 hour block of instruction which focuses on a multi-disciplinary approach to
building functional, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is
designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform
for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle. A heavy emphasis
is placed upon commonality of body mechanics between skill sub-sets, which
means that all combative software is reinforcing. Once the student’s skill sets are
initially ingrained, the participant will be stress inoculated with force on force drills
utilizing man-marking cartridges and protective equipment.

Students can take one or both classes. There is no previous martial arts experience required to attend the PUC class. The ECQC class is not recommended for beginning shooters.

The PUC class is a 4 hour module and the ECQC 1-2 is a 20 hour course. The PUC course is $100 and the ECQC course is $400.
Students need to mail a %50 deposit to secure a slot.

The class size is limited to ensure a quality learning experience.

With these thoughts in mind, the Revolutionary War Veterans Association are putting on a number of RIFLE CLINICS around the nation. But that’s not the best part; women, children and young adults under 20 attend FREE of RWVA fees (some ranges charge a nominal daily fee).

Course Curriculum:

Core pistol training utilizing sighted and point shooting techniques with Matt Temkin and 7677.

Threat Focused Pistol Quick Kill with Brownie

Introduction to drawing and shooting while moving out of the kill zone from 0-10 feet. Several important core concepts/components will be extensively covered under the guidance of all three instructors which will allow the student the best chance to successfully negotiate the time/distance problems faced on the streets.

Extreme Close Quarters hand to hand [ H2H ] skills which lead to integrating the pistol into the fight by all three instructors. This portion will also cover training in various physical skills for the gun disarm and gun traps by all three instructors.

Close Quarters H2H Defensive skills against a knife. This will be a round-table hands on segment where the students will have an opportunity to move among all of the instructors who will cover the best unarmed defensive edged weapons skills from different systems.

Force on Force with Airsofts utilizing the previously covered training from "in your face" out to 21 feet.

Since Matt, 7677 and I held the "Sightless in Tucson" event in October of 2005, we have all received constant requests to come together again for a H2H combatives class that would integrate the pistol skills and defensive edged weapons training into the mix. Here the chance to get hard core established real world skills from three instructors who are individually recognized for their various talents.

This course allows the student to learn effective close quarters street skills integrating the handgun and knife into the mix to survive an encounter in a two day package that's not only affordable but brings the talents of three instructors into one location.

Combat Focus is an intuitive shooting program that is based on the study of empirical evidence from real violent encounters and builds on the body's natural reaction to an attack. At the ranges that gun fights typically occur, Combat Focus is the most effective way to engage your threat with a handgun. This two day course empowers students by encouraging them to embrace their bodies natural reaction to a lethal threat and work with it to neutralize that threat as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Combat Focus Technique is not hip-shooting, in fact, the only significant difference between using this technique and sighted fire is the focus of your attention at the moment the trigger breaks.

You are much more likely to be caught off-guard by an aggressive attacker in close quarters and low-light than you are to be confronted by a truly lethal threat in broad daylight standing 30 yards away in front of a dirt berm.

This course is features a significant amount time discussing what happens during dynamic encounters and dissecting each shooters performance.

Ammunition Requirements: 1,500 rounds (minimum) of factory loaded ammunition.

BASIC PISTOL (Handgun) COURSE

This course is designed to develop safe firearm handling skills. The student will learn the basic fundamentals of shooting and how to safely draw their weapon out of the holster. The student will also develop a solid foundation of shooting skills. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with their handgun. The following topics will be discussed during the course:

• Safety (4 Rules)
• Draw (5 Steps)
• Fundamentals of shooting (Grip, Stance, Sight’s, Trigger Control)
• Malfunctions (Tap, Rack, Fight)
• Low Light Shooting
• FATS Shoot / No Shoot simulation
• Virginia Concealed Handgun & Firearms Law
• Golden Rules of Deadly Force in Self Defense (Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy and Preclusion.)

Ammunition Requirements: 300 rounds (minimum) of factory loaded ammunition.
Perroni’s Tactical Training Academy will not be selling ammunition at this course.

Gear List: Pistol, hip holster, three magazines, magazine holders, sturdy belt, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, Baseball type cap and a flashlight. (Surefire Type)

Course Cost:
$150.00 tuition fee, which includes 8- 10 hours instruction, and a certificate of completion. And the PTTA Basic Pistol Course Book.

Qualification: The qualification for this course will be the DCJS course of fire shot on B27 or FBI Q targets at 3,7,15 yards 60 rounds fired max score of 300 a score of 255 is passing. However the standard for Perroni’s Tactical Training Academy is 290, In order to be awarded High Shooter & progress to Advanced Handgun Training.

This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with the carbine. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations. I'll be down in Florida for SHOT Show in a couple of weeks and I'm sticking around to teach a 2 day Combat Focus Shooting program at an outstanding range facility in Titusville, FL.

The course will be a 2 day intuitive shooting program with an expected round count between 1200 and 1500 rnds.
Shooters of any skill level are welcome.

The host range is at the American Police Hall of Fame and is a great place to train. I taught there last February during an Instructor Development program.

The course will take place on the last weekend of January.
