Just bragging a bit, I suppose

My first AR-15. She's old, but solid.

From the markings I can find without taking it apart:
Late '70s vintage
Palmetto Armory lower, not Palmetto State
Barrel bears Colt proof marks, may be a full Colt upper

Solid shooter based on the few times I've fired it.

Yes, it's a grainy pic, but you get the idea

This is going to be a loooong work day

Darn, I knew I forgot to do something last night

Cleaned the mags out this morning before work - boy were they filthy.

On the plus side - all 3 20-rounders are Colt. 2 Adventureline 30-rounders. Got about 800 rounds of .223, cleaning kit, and bag with it as well.

It's good to buy from family - I'm in the doghouse for it though, my wife to be had planned on buying it from her dad to give me as a wedding present

From what I can see thats a beauty of a rifle. congratulations...My first AR was a colt m16 parts set that was built on a CMMG lower (semi of course)..I have since replaced the cmmg with a nodak spud, to give it a correct look for a 'Nam era rifle. Its the best rifle in the safe as far as Im concerned.

Looks like an awesome Rifle. Sure don't see much of the classic triangle foregrips anymore.

The more "classic" look was the biggest attraction. Will be taking it out for a spin tomorrow if weather permits

Only downside I can see of the ones I have is a) they can get slippery and b) the 2 halves on mine don't match up very well - I haven't had it apart to look closer, but not sure both halves are the same make

Lucky dawg!! The 70's/80's Palmetto Armorys were SP1 BILLET-machined lowers done by Olympic Arms (SGW at the time, IIRC). AFAIK; the first commercial billet AR lowers.
That's gonna make a GREAT retro build! Been looking for one of those forever...
