Mossberg 835 won't eject shells

I have been lurking in the forum for just a short while and so far, very nice. As the title says, I have an 835 that won't eject the shells. After the shot, the empty shell sometimes gets hung up and won't come out. Sometimes I can "rack" the gun and get the shell out. Is this a problem with the extractors or extractor springs? Or is there something else I'm missing. Thanks.........RR

Check the extractor to make sure the hook isn't chipped and the spring still works.

Then check the ejector to make sure it is working.
