Shot shell

Anyone ever try reloading the Rio Royal Shot Shells or the Sellier and Bellot Shot Shells?

No, I have not tried S&B ....but a few of the guys at my club have tried to reload some Rio's ( a variety of their hulls) with mixed success. But there are recipe's out there on the Rio's at least.

In general, I think its fair to say the hulls on the Rio's tend to be brittle ...and you'll be lucky to get 3 reloads or so out of a hull. One buddy at my club - loads them one time and then tosses them out.

In comparison ...a Remington STS or Nitro hull ...in a 12ga or 20ga will easily last for 15 or more reloads.

Personally, I'd suggest you stick with a Rem or Win hull...and find the Rem hulls a lot easier to use.

Its going to be a few months off before I start loading my 00 Buck rounds but I wont waste my time saving Rio Hulls.

If you can get your hands on the Remington Gun Clubs, they load as good as any and are plentiful around my parts. i've used them for years as do most of the reloaders I know.
Most of the european hulls are not worth the trouble.

Rioa are straight-walled and need the proper wad, typically a Gualandi or similar
