Magpro powder

Anybody have experience with this powder? According to the Accurate webpage, the velocities attainable with this variety of powder are fairly extreme. For example, 270 winchester using 130 gr. Nosler ballistic tip they advertize 3243 fps muzzle velocity.

Haven't tried any of their Power Pro powder line yet, but am looking forward to doing so. They do, indeed look promising. I expect muzzle blast to be significant because they apparently keep pressure up longer in the bore, and that may have adverse impact on accuracy, but the only way to tell for sure is to try it. Something for later this year, I suppose.

I tried some in my .270WSM and while the velocities were very good, I wasn't impressed enough with the accuracy to record my data. Maybe I should try some again and recheck it. It didn't impress me at all in the .243 Win. either with velocity or accuracy. FWIW

Thanks! Velocity is over rated in my opinion.

This addiction is getting ridiculous. If I live another 10 years and keep going at this rate, the upstairs will be full of gun safes and the downstairs full of partially used boxes of bullets and jugs of powder, and the garage full of shot up targets.

There are worse things, I suppose.

The idea of a 270 producing 3230 fps is only intriguing if a person plans on shooting a heck of along ways.
