Totally politically incorrect
This is a bit off topic, but, on the plus side, Single shot, black powder .45-70 rifles were used.
This video is about hunting Teddy Bears. PETSA (People fot the Ethical Treatment of Stuffed Animals) is already boycotting it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fHZbSpmnA4 |

You know, if you soak them in water first, then freeze them ....... they make better reactive targets.......

Now that's funny.
Is that you Gehrhard? ![]() I really think the plated, buffered, 00 or 000 buck in 3" Super Magnum would be adequate for these dangerous bruins. Sorry to doubt you.

I'm pretty sure that was a smokeless round . . . ?
The nice thing about those breeds of bears is that, unlike turkeys, they come already stuffed.

Hi Dlbarr,
That was a small Kentucky rifle trigger guard I got from Dixie Gun Works many years ago. I cut off the old plastic trigger guard flush with the receiver. Then I inletted the tail of the new guard into the butt stock and secured it with a wood screw. Then I drilled and tapped the receiver for a 10x32 screw and used that to secure the front of the guard. |

Thanks Mike. I have a brass trigger guard or two laying around. I'll see if they might be a fit. Did you disassemble the action to cut that old plastic guard or did you just do it on the gun?

Boy, you'd think by now I'd know just what I should show my wife and what I should reserve for my own personal entertainment.
She didn't see the same hilarity that I saw. It wasn't "doghouse bad", but apparently she has a softer spot for ursus theodori than I thought!
